Number of Thefts in Capital Edges Higher in 2023

The number of thefts in Budapest rose 3.7% to 13,419 in 2023, news agency MTI reports, citing an annual report by the police approved by the municipal council on Wednesday.
The number of home burglaries fell 15.6% to 940.
The number of car thefts dropped 8.8% to 103, while the number of car break-ins fell 17.7% to 326.
There were 13 intentional murders in Budapest last year, down from 15 in 2022.
