The Hungarian Pureco-Unit consortium has inaugurated wastewater treatment plants in the Ghanaian cities of Takoradi and Tamale, the state secretary in charge of Hungary Helps program told MTI on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Pureco-Unit earlier inaugurated another wastewater treatment plant in Kumasi, Tristan Azbej noted.

The plants, which cost about HUF 3.8 billion apiece, will serve the needs of close to 2 million people, he said. The projects were financed with around EUR 30 mln in credit from Magyar Eximbank, he added.

Pureco-Unit designed and supplied the technology for the wastewater treatment plants as well as building them.
