Áder: 'Throw-away' culture unsustainable
A "throw-away" culture is typical of all parts of the world and is unsustainable, President János Áder said at the opening of Sustainability Week in Budapest, according to novekedes.hu.
In a lecture called "From the Water Crisis to Sustainable Development," given to students of the Piarist High School in Budapest, Áder emphasized that if we continue to buy "surplus products, we will sooner or later lack the water needed to supply the population."
He added that in addition to supplying the population, good quality water is also needed for agricultural cultivation, animal husbandry, and industrial production.
However, due to the current overconsumption, the question will soon have to be asked in many parts of the world whether to provide water to the population, agriculture, or industry, because there will not be enough for all three.
