Fertilizer Sales Decreased 40% in Q4 Last Year

The volume of fertilizer sales decreased by 40% in the last quarter of last year compared to 2021, according to a summary by the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI), writes agroinform.hu.

Farmers bought 54% fewer plant protection products than in the last three months of the previous year, AKI noted.

Among the fertilizers, the most significant decline occurred in the case of ammonium nitrate, potash, and mono ammonium phosphate.

The turnover of urea increased almost two and a half times, while distributors sold 28% more Nitrosol than in the fourth quarter of 2021. Sales of MAS saltpeter also decreased by 20%.
