The Hungarian housing price index continues to set highs, according to the Duna House Barometer. In its latest analysis, it examined European housing prices based on Eurostat data, writes business daily Világgazdaság.

After the trend reversal that marked the end of the continuous price increases since 2015, the easing lasted for a fleeting two quarters in the real estate markets of the European Union before, in the second quarter of 2023, housing prices increased again by 0.3% compared to the previous three months. Meanwhile, rents rose by 0.7%, according to Eurostat.

However, the slight price increase in the last quarter still does not mean real estate prices have reached the level before the trend reversal.

As of the second quarter of 2022, prices are still 1.7% lower in the euro area and 1.1% lower in the European Union as a whole.
