Foodpanda to Raise Courier Pay as Tax Change Comes Into Force

Food delivery company Foodpanda on Wednesday said it will raise couriers' remuneration by 18% on average, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Foodpanda said it gave couriers' pay "a rethink" after amendments to legislation on the Itemised Tax for Small Businesses (KATA).
Lawmakers voted earlier in the summer to restrict KATA to sole proprietors.
Foodpanda said one-tenth of its couriers had signaled their intent to leave the company after the changes to KATA come into force on September 1.
