Karácsony proposes free public transport for under-14s

Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony on Thursday proposed making public transport in the city free for children under the age of 14, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Addressing a special session of the municipal council committee for climate change, transport and urban development, Karácsony said he would submit the proposal to next Wednesday's meeting of the Budapest city council assembly.
If approved by the deputies, the measure could come into force from September 2.
