Orbán Meets With Erdogan in Ankara

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Thursday, the PM's press chief told news agency MTI.
The sides discussed the war in Ukraine and energy security, Bertalan Havasi said. Both pointed to the need for achieving peace as soon as possible through diplomatic means while avoiding any escalation, he added.
Erdogan thanked Hungary for the solidarity it showed after an earthquake hit Türkiye in February, singling out the "heroic" work of Hungarian search-and-rescue teams.
Orbán asked Erdogan for Türkiye to remain a dependable transit country for Hungary's gas of "key importance" for the country's energy security.
