Orbán Presses for Changed Sanctions Policy

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said the policy of sanctions against Russia must be changed in a video message posted on Facebook late Thursday.
At a summit of European Union leaders in Prague, Orbán said sanctions had caused "sky-high" energy prices that are "practically impossible to pay".
"Russia has not been brought to its knees at all, while European economies are bleeding out," he said.
"Obviously, sanctions policies must be changed. That's what's at stake at the upcoming meetings," he added.
Orbán noted that Hungary had managed to negotiate exemptions from the sanctions affecting crude and gas deliveries as well as nuclear energy.
The PM held bilateral meetings with his Polish counterpart, Mateusz Morawiecki, with Czech President Milos Zeman, and with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic at the summit in Prague, the PM's press chief told MTI.
