Hungary in Talks on Joint EU Ammunition Procurement

Hungary wants to participate in a joint, European Union procurement of ammunition, but will use purchases only for the country's own defense forces, Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, said at a regular press briefing on Thursday.
Gulyás said the joint procurement is "advantageous" for Hungary.
He reiterated Hungary's position on staying out of the war in Ukraine and pressing for an immediate ceasefire and the start of peace talks.
Fielding questions, he said talks are underway on the joint ammunition procurement, to take place over seven years, adding that the defense minister will make an announcement on the matter when it is finalized.
