EU

The European Commission has greenlighted PLN 210 million (EUR 47 million) in state aid to Polish farmers to mitigate the effects of Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, the Polish government has said, according to a report by Polish news agency PAP.

Agriculture Minister Robert Telus announced the news in a tweet on Monday, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) reported.

"The European Commission has approved another package of government aid to Polish farmers, in the context of Russia's aggression against Ukraine."

Telus said adding that under this aid package, the government will grant subsidies for the purchase of seed-sowing materials.

The government aid for these subsidies will total PLN 210 million (EUR 47 million).

Poland has already allocated PLN 15.4 billion (EUR 3.5 billion) to help its farmers deal with the effects of Russia's February 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Agriculture Ministry has said.
