Corruption Reporting Safer, Simpler Under New Legislation
It will be simpler and safer to report corruption in companies due to new legislation based on a European Union directive, according to the international consulting company EY, writes hrportal.hu.
The announcement explains that Hungarian companies employing at least 50 employees must find a solution so that employees and other stakeholders, including suppliers and subcontractors, can inform the management if they experience corporate abuse, such as human rights violations, fraud, corruption, or even suspicion of cartels.
The whistleblower must be informed of the status of the internal investigation initiated in the case within three months at the latest.
Businesses that employ between 50 and 249 employees can set up the internal abuse reporting system jointly.
