Lawmakers postpone expanded data provision for tourism sector

Parliament has approved amendments to legislation postponing the extension of mandatory daily data provision to catering businesses and tourism attractions for six months until the start of 2023, the Hungarian Tourism Agency said on Tuesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The agency noted that more than 45,000 commercial accommodations submit data to the National Tourism Data Service Centre (NTAK), rolled out in 2019, on a daily basis.
Provision will soon be expanded to restaurants and cafes as well as attractions such as museums, castles, spas, and festivals to allow better data-driven management of the sector, it added.
Over 10,000 catering businesses and tourism attractions have already registered to use NTAK.
