Q1 Public Procurement Value up 2% y.o.y.

The value of public procurements in Hungary inched up 2% to HUF 716.2 billion in the first quarter from the same period a year earlier, according to a report published by the Public Procurement Authority.

Public procurement procedures increased by 10% to 1,873 during the period.

Construction contracts accounted for 29% of the value of public procurements and orders of goods for 37%; services made up 34% of the total.

The value of construction contracts reached HUF 208.2 bln, practically level with the HUF 208.6 bln in the base period.

Microbusinesses and SMEs won 63% of contracts in terms of value and 84% in terms of numbers, the report shows.
