MÁV-Volán Reaches Wage Agreement With Rail Workers

State-owned rail and bus group MÁV-Volán reached an agreement with railway workers unions yesterday that will raise average remuneration by at least 28.4% over three years, Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) said in a press release.
Unions for workers at bus company Volán did not sign the agreement, MÁV noted.
In the preamble to the agreement, unions express their commitment to supporting restructuring and modernization at the MÁV-Volán group, the company added.
János Meleg, who heads the railway workers' union VSz, said the deal was the "best possible one given the circumstances."
