Hungarian, Tunisian Companies to Partner on Railway Developments

An agreement between Hungary's Ganz and a Tunisian partner has been reached, paving the way for the start of large-scale cooperation on the upgrade of Tunisia's railway network, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Tunis on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Szijjártó said an agreement between Hungarian and Tunisian companies would be signed on Monday, launching cooperation in the sector. He added that Tunisia's railway company was calling tenders in the hundreds of millions of euros for network and fleet developments.
Cooperation between Hungary and Tunisia could also be stepped up in the farm and food sectors, and in water management, he said, ahead of a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart, Nabil Ammar.
He noted that bilateral trade between Hungary and Tunisia had reached USD 270 million last year.
