Ferenc Liszt Numbers Climb 20% in 2023

Passenger numbers at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport rose 20% to 14,701,100 in 2023, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

The number still fell short of the record 16,173,500 set in 2019, the year before the pandemic.

U.K. nationals accounted for the largest number of passengers on commercial flights at 1,973,400. Italians were runner-up (1,600,100), followed by Germans (1,503,000).

Passenger numbers from countries in Asia reached 1,567,000, up 49% from 2022. Cargo volume at Ferenc Liszt rose 7% to 142,800 tonnes in 2023.
