Latvia Retail Sales Drop in September

Retail sales in Latvia slid 4.1% year-on-year in September, a seventh consecutive decline, following a 2.7% drop in the prior month, data released by the Riga-based Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on Friday show.
It was the steepest decrease in the sequence, largely on account of sales of non-food products, except motor fuel (-7.2%) and automotive fuel (-2.8%).
At the same time, spending on food products fell by 0.4%. On a monthly basis, retail sales edged down 0.1% in September, after a 0.4% fall in the preceding month.
