Hungarian Industrial Production Decreases in January

Manufacturing

The volume of industrial production in Hungary dropped in January 2024 by 3.6% year-on-year, while based on working-day adjusted data, it declined by 4.1%, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Production volume fell in January 2024 in the great majority of the manufacturing subsections.

Output grew only in three subsections, at the highest rate in the manufacture of coke, and refined petroleum products.

Industrial output– according to seasonally and working-day adjusted indices – was 1.1% below the level of the previous month the statistics office notes.
