One of Hungary's leading event service providers, Special Effects, continues its strategic growth with the acquisition of Universum 8.

For over 40 years, Special Effects has been providing creative design, state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, and project management services for boutique events, conferences, unique exhibitions, and large-scale events both domestically and internationally. The merger with the creative agency, Universum 8, is part of the service provider's deliberate expansion and portfolio diversification.

"We first met the team of Universum 8 at the Expo 2020 Dubai, where they showcased their widely acclaimed, integrated social event, 'Judit Polgar vs the World'. Since then, we have successfully completed several joint projects together. Their creative approach, professional expertise, and - as they put it - 'blush-inducing enthusiasm' encouraged us to strengthen our relationship," explained Kassai Zsolt, CEO of Special Effects Zrt., regarding the details of the acquisition.

Universum 8 Ltd. is a creative agency with its own studio and production team, supporting its clients since 2017 with experiential events, embedded promotional, and traditional or gamified development solutions.

"It is always a pleasure for us to have partners with ambitious goals and high-quality standards, and Special Effects is such a company. We have encountered an extremely professional team in them, who have worked reliably at top-notch quality," said Mark Tischler, founder and CEO of Universum 8. "We see huge potential and opportunities for growth in this collaboration, and we believe that our joint work will open up new ways in the domestic and global market, allowing us to leverage our creativity in exciting new areas and even larger projects."

With the acquisition, Universum 8 Ltd. has become a member of the Special Effects Group. The group consists of independently operating businesses covering various areas of the events sector, contributing to unforgettable event experiences by sharing knowledge, experience, and resources.
